I open my eyes, mist I see

Sprawling across, no boundaries;

White as snow, fresh the breeze

I sip my tea, and let it ease.

 

The grass feels crisp under my feet,

Moist the soil with the dew they meet;

I close my eyes to feel it all,

I take them in, merry like a ball.

 

I hear chirps, happy they sound;

All in harmony, their voice so round;

Looking for the source, a branch I see;

Birds hopping as they flee

 

The mist has cleared, the sky so vast,

I feel a spell, the nature’s cast;

Like a dream it seemed, such endless green,

Hills and mountains, a painter’s scene.

 

Tea in my hand and in my eyes,

Spread across, shape of a dice;

From my feet until the sun,

I see lines, far away they run.

 

Lines on the ground, lines on the sky,

Endless wires, a pole so high;

One look up, the sun shines bright,

Through the branches, a beautiful sight.

 

I feel my eyes, bloom in joy,

Painting all colors, dream of a boy;

I stamp them, the stroke of earth,

In my memories, the mark of birth. ­
